It's a roller now on the new frame. Gonna work on it some more tonight after work tightening up all the nuts and bolts for the front and rear suspension. I went with a '01 Raptor rear shock, and with the +4 swinger she sits high. There's a ton of ground clearance and my feet don't even touch the ground with me sitting on it. I'm gonna end up adjusting the rear shock to soften it up. There's tons of travel there!!! I'm hoping to do a little each night this week to get it ready to drop the motor in this weekend. That'll give me 2 weeks to get it broken in and get the jetting dialed in for the trip to LS on March 3rd. I'll try to get some pics, hopefully this weekend if the weather's nice I'll bring it out of the garage to take a few pics.

Sounds like it is going to be a brand new machine when it comes out this spring. That's the plan. Got some more done last night. All the suspension is tightened up and loc-tited. got the rear brakes on and the handlebars. I think I'm gonna go with some different bars though. Tomorrow night I'm gonna adjust the rear shock to lower it and soften it up. Then the new rear hubs will go on, front brake, and the YZ electronics. Should be able to put the motor in this weekend. I found a local guy that's gonna build me a tank for it out of aluminum, so it may or may not be done by my trip. Worst case, I'll put the Zinger tank on just to ride it for the weekend. Pics will be up this weekend when I can pull it out of the garage. When I get off work it's dark and the garage is so cluttered I wouldn't be able to take any decent pics.

More progress on the Z. Got the motor in, the carb and throttle cable ran, had to use the head off my Tri-Z cuz the YZ head water neck points right at the radiator. Also, my brother got the Tri-Z clutch cover on it Monday, so it kicks forward now. I just spent about $100.00 on an OEM kickstarter for an 83 YZ250 from Yamaha. I was able to return it, but am going to probably get charged a re-stocking fee. So tonight the chain and exhaust go on. I just have to wait on a new waterpump seal and an oil seal for the governer. That and the clutch perch and lever should be in Friday. I'm hoping to have it running this weekend. I ended up using the Air filter assembly off the 500 as it was exactly the right bend and also a 38mm carb. Also got the tank back and it's on too. Not gonna have enough time to paint it, so it's just bare aluminum this trip.

It runs!!! I got it fired up last night. The gas tank I had made has two little pin hole leaks in it. I guess he didn't check it. I found it out as I was cleaning it out, so at least I wasn't out riding spraying fuel all over myself. Gonna take it back to the guy Monday. Not sure if he can weld it back up since it's had gas in it. He welded in some baffles so it's really hard to dump all the gas out of it. I just used the Zinger tank to start it up. Kicked it about 5 times then remembered to put a good plug in it and hook up the plug wire. After that I choked it and it fired up in 2 kicks. The trike sounds MEAN!!! It sounds way different than it used to with the stock motor. Even my friend's Tri-Z doesn't sound like this. I'm assuming it's the powervalve, the Z's kinda "ping" where this thing growls. It won't be going to LS next weekend, just gonna give myself some time to go back over all the hose clamps cuz I've got a small coolant leak at the inline cooler. Gotta pull the clutch cover to adjust the clutch. It doesn't move and the clutch is adjusted way too tight, so I think the adjuster on the basket isn't allowing the clutch to release. After Waynoka I'm gonna get the white fenders on order and get some white shrouds from Aussieduner on .org, then the tank will be painted to match. I also got the 350 fired up yesterday to check for any leaks. Turns out the leak was from the bolts I got in the stainless kit off Ebay. The clutch cover bolts that came in the kit were threaded all the way to the head unlike the stock ones that were collared. I put the stock ones back in and no leak.

I hope he can weld your tank. He should have checked that before he gave it to ya. I bet it is fast.

Yeah I still got the R, I like riding it alot more now with the tires that I got from you. I might be going to the dunes over the weekend of march 25th, but I don't know yet. I might just wait till they get the syracuse dunes open cause I have inlaws that live arround there.

What's the progress on the syracuse dunes? I haven't heard anything new in a while. It's further away than LS for me, but it's another spot to ride, so I may check it out sometime.
I took the tank back in today. He said he can weld it and should be done this afternoon. I'll probably pick it up tomorrow. I get off at 3:30 on Thursday so I may try to tie up all the losse ends on it and run another heat cycle through the motor. I haven't decided if Iw ant to take it this weekend or not. It'll probably just sit at camp most of the time. If I do take it, I'll probably end up breaking it in just outside of the South gate so I'm not too far out if I need a tow back in. We'll see. All I've got to do is pull the clutch cover to adjust the clutch and go back over all the hoses.

I had pics to share, but my batteries on the cam died right as Iw as trying to send them to my PC. I unplugged the cord too soon or sumthin and deleted all the pics from my camera and didn't get them transferred. I'll work on it tonight getting the clutch adjusted and the plastics on it, so hopefully I can put the tank on tomorrow night and get it running again. I'll take pics of it Thursday since that's the earliest I'll have it out in the daylight.

If someone was setting up shop, with a free money store the hillbillies in that town would be totally against it. Im telling you man, that town is the butthole of planet earth. I might go ride there to check out to see how they change the dunes some, but you wont see me spending much time around that backasswards town.
