Alec and I went out to Syracuse Sand Dunes for the first time yesterday. Another guy and his 2 boys went also. We had a great time except that it got so hot.
The park has some great riding area. Still lots of vegetation but it is dissappearing fast. Lots of small sandy areas that are starting to blow out. We found a bunch of smaller jumps that were fun to hit.
The park right now is 1,300 acrea they have plans to buy more ground soon. They also have lots of great ideas that are happening . I know modern facilities are being installed. They also have plans for a drag strip right by the highway.
We had a great time and we will go back soon. I will get pictures posted asap.

Any big dunes? Is the riding area more like Beaver or Waynoka? I have the week of Sept 10th off for Vacation, so I may make the trip.

It is more like Beaver Dunes right now. I think in a year or 2 the dunes will be big once the vegetation is removed.

looks like all they need is a hand full of weekends with nothing but buggies, and that place will start to look like L.S.

well hell.. since it isnt government owned and protected, they could actually spray it all as well. The guys at Beaver have always wanted to get a crop duster with chemical to kill everything, but since its government owned they cant. (although, some of the locals would go out and spray anyways.. at least they used to last I knew)

From what I understand they arn't allowed to spray it to kill everything. The tree huggers know what is going on and they have been there and inspected it all.
